Egghead

Egghead is a short piece of flash fiction I originally wrote for Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine's April 2007 Mysterious Photo contest. (The magazine holds a monthly contest for the best story based on a photograph. The story must be 250 or fewer words and must include a crime.) I submitted a story that I felt should have garnered at least an honorable mention, but alas, it was passed over completely. I'm sure they get a lot of entries for these contests, so I forgive them their oversight.

I added a sentence to describe the photograph and submitted the story to Mouth Full of Bullets as a flash fiction piece. It was immediately accepted for publication in the March 2008 issue. If you join my mailing list, I'll send you an e-mail when it's published.
